There are typical signs of each of these forms of abuse:

⇒Physical Abuse:

a sign of possible abuse are unexplained injuries, such as cuts, bruises or broken bones. Also, a frequent form of physical abuse with elderly people is the formation of bed sores due to a lack of care.

Some of the key signs of possible psychological abuse are isolation of the patient from others without explanation or reason, incessant yelling or screaming at the patient, or threats towards the patient.

Neglect:

Neglect shows its face in many different ways, including unsanitary conditions, clothing that has not been changed or washed, a patient not being fed properly, or medications not being properly administered to a patient.

Financial abuse includes employees misappropriating funds from a patient’s account, stealing money, forging signatures for loans, and outright identity theft.
